The Women’s League was established in the Spring of 1996 by a group of four devoted young women from the Western Suburbs.  This generous group, now over 100 strong in members, contributes year-long to the lives of the Misericordia’s children and adults through volunteer work and fundraising.

Major Event:

The Women’s League Benefit takes place each February or March and has been raising funds for Misericordia since 1996.  After many successful years, the Women’s League now comes together to host it’s Signature Event, Heart of Gold.  The group hosts over 400 friends,  family members, and Misericordia staff and residents, for a night of entertainment, live and silent auctions, paddle raise, bakery sales, and so much more!

Volunteering:

Women’s League members have made a significant impact on the Misericordia community through their volunteer efforts.  From organizing zoo outings with residents, volunteering in the bakery, adopting residents for a Secret Santa program at Christmas, assisting in running the BUMS golf outing, running the novelty ice cream booth at Family Fest, and manning 2 suburbs for Candy Days, Women’s League members help to spread the ministry of Misericordia through their dedication of time and talents both on Misericordia’s campus and in the community.
