Career Opportunities in the Human Service Field are available for caring persons who want to make a difference in the lives of children and adults with mental and physical disabilities. High School diploma or equivalent required. Potential advancement opportunities to a Case Manager/QIDP (Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional) for persons with a Bachelors Degree.

Starting payrate for a DSP (Direct Service Professional) / C.N.A (Certified Nursing Assistant) without a bachelor's degree is $12.40 per hour and $13.40 with a bachelor's degree.  We also pay shift differentials for weekends, evenings and overnight shifts.

Five weeks of formal training classes are provided which include on the job training with supervision and assistance from supervisors and seasoned staff members. Once training has been completed Direct Service Professionals assume responsibility for direct personal care of persons with disabilities. This involves providing, assisting with, or supervising hygiene, grooming and selection of appropriate clothing. The Direct Service Professional also assumes responsibility for cleanliness and organization of the residents' environmental space.

Recreational opportunities are very important for our residents and Direct Service Professionals accompany them and participate in a variety of activities which include but are not limited to swimming, bowling, team sports and events in the community such as movies, dinners at restaurants, sporting events and much more.

Residents have Individual Program Plans with goals identified to help them achieve and maintain the highest level of functioning possible. Direct Service Professionals are given specific responsibilities to help the residents achieve their goals. Goals can range from self-care tasks to mobility skills, independent living skills or any other area identified as a priority need for the individual. This allows Direct Service Professionals to develop ongoing relationships with residents and act as mentors while helping them achieve their goals.

Since we are a residential facility open twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week, available hours include:

  • Morning shifts 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
  • Afternoon shifts 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
  • Overnight shifts 10:00 p.m.- 6 a.m. or 11 p.m. – 7 a.m.

Days off during the week are arranged when weekend work is required. Weekend staffing is needed to support the many social and recreational activities that are scheduled. Weekends off, however, are also important for staff members and we make sure to arrange at least one per month. Monthly schedules are posted in advance and requests for special days off are accommodated wherever possible.
