Please note, in compliance with the Illinois Executive Order regarding vaccinations, we require all of our staff to be current with their COVID vaccinations. This includes receipt of a booster dose, unless a booster dose is not yet warranted (which, depends on the date(s) of vaccination). Once staff become eligible for a booster, a booster dose is required and updated documentation must be submitted.

 

Night Pastry Chef

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 2 years work experience as a baker.
  • Must be available to work: 3pm to 11pm during August 1st to January 1st, then 10am to 6pm during January 2nd to July 31st
  • You must be current with COVID-19 vaccinations, including a booster, if booster-eligible
  • Food Service Sanitation Certification

SKILLS:

  • Strong communication, time and resource management and planning skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience in quantity food preparation and service.
  • Ability to operate food service equipment such as: convection and conventional ovens, large mixers and scales.
  • Ability to determine portion measurements based on recipes.
  • Willing to improve skills through specialized training.

Developmental Training Conway Instructor

POSITION SUMMARY: 

As at DTI/DTT you will develop lesson plans, goals and objectives through creating relationships with community partners, while interacting with ease and confidence. We are currently looking to hire full-time Developmental Training Instructor. Position is Monday-Friday (8am-4pm). No weekends.

Qualifications:

  • DT Instructors (DTIs) and DT Trainers (DTTs) must have a minimum of one year experience working with persons with intellectual disabilities.
  • DTIs and DTTs must be able to complete 4 weeks of training upon hire.
  • Bachelor’s degree required for DTI position
  • Highschool Diploma required for DTT position.
  • Rate of pay based on education.
  • DTIs and DTTs will develop lesson plans, goals and objectives through creating relationships with community partners, while interacting with ease and confidence.
  • Must have the ability to develop quality services for programs participants.
  • Ability to demonstrate reliability, flexibility, adaptability, professionalism and work independently/without supervision.

Developmental Training Greco Gardens Instructor

POSITION SUMMARY:

The exciting and always eventful role of the DT Instructor of Greco Gardens is to support residents in a greenhouse atmosphere. The instructor will work closely with the Greco Gardens manager to oversee the program. Candidates should feel comfortable creating, developing, and implementing programming as it relates to horticultural concepts. The ideal candidate would be comfortable working with multiple departments on campus and residents of all skill sets.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year working with individuals with intellectual disabilities
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record required, must be comfortable driving vehicles of all sizes
  • Committed to ensuring the rights of the residents

Community Day Services Instructor-CDSI

 POSITION SUMMARY:

The role of the Instructor/Trainer position in Engage Chicago is to support participant directed activities that are integrated into Chicagoland communities. Candidates should feel comfortable assisting participants in finding, developing, and accessing community partners on a daily basis, and exploring areas of interest in the community, to include those that are employment related. Ideal candidates would engage with community organizations, and enjoy supporting individuals in a variety of community settings. A CDS Instructor/Trainer may also be asked to assist with employment centered training (job coaching) in the community. The ideal candidate would be comfortable under high pressure situation, and handling emergency situations as they occur, and frequent changes in daily settings and duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of one year experience working with persons with intellectual disabilities
  • Has a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and is comfortable driving vehicles of all sizes
  • Ability to work without direct supervision the entire shift, and positively represent Misericordia

Security Guard

  • Pay Rate: $18.00 base pay/ $19.50 when working 11pm-7am, M-F/ $20 when working Sat or Sunday
  • We have a full-time opening for a certified (20 hour training) security guard to work on our 31 acre campus (with some rounds off campus) for evening and overnight coverage.
  • The schedule for this position will require some flex hours, this will be discussed during the interview process.
  • Must have a valid PERC card.
  • Security guard must have Driver's License - current and valid.
  • Must have previous experience in the security field, we will only consider applicants with strong experience in security.
  • Security guard must have a High School Diploma/GED.

Cook

Misericordia is looking to hire an experienced cook with a passion to contribute to our mission by preparing food that is appealing in presentation and taste, while meeting the dietary needs of our residents.

Responsibilities:

  • To prepare and serve food which is properly prepared, free of contamination, having proper texture, good taste, pleasant visible appeal and meets all time temperature regulations.
  • Follow menu and recipes as listed in kitchen for that day and check for preparation of next day’s menu.
  • Keep accurate records of food temperatures on a meal by meal basis.
  • Clean and sanitize work area and equipment as needed.
  • Make sure special tray list are followed as written. Keep list updated and organized.
  • Sees that the Food Service Director and Maintenance is notified of non-functioning equipment immediately.
  • Bring all food supplies that are needed for the day up to the kitchen.
  • Help with preparing or cooking for special events.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of refrigerator and freezer, making sure food is properly labeled and organized.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Food Service Director.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of equipment to be used in food service.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Must have 2 years experience as a cook.
  • Ability to work alone and cooperatively with others.
  • Food Service Sanitation Certification/Certified Food Protection Manager training

McAuley Recreation Therapist

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in therapeutic recreation or related field
  • Minimum of one year experience supporting person with multiple disabilities
  • Experience supporting persons with medically complex needs preferred
  • Ability to be self-directed with strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible regarding work schedule, including working evenings and weekends.

Recreation Specialist-Music

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation or related Activity field required.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with persons with Intellectual disabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to plan & facilitate quality, person-centered leisure activities with an emphasis on Music based programs as well as Creative arts, Wellness, games and sports.
  • Ability to work with Recreation team members as well as volunteers in planning a variety of on campus and community events (concerts, parties, sporting events).
  • Assist with Special Olympics events as needed.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills; provide direct care staff with instruction on Active Treatment techniques and activities during regularly scheduled programming.
  • Evenings and alternate weekends (flexible hours).
  • Good time management skills and ability to work independently.

We are hiring for a housekeeper on our 31 acre campus on the Northside of Chicago.

This position is for the day shift, (6am-2pm) with the availability to work 3 weekends a month.

Job Qualifications and Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds in weight.
  • Previous housekeeping experience, minimum of 1 year, required.
  • Must have a valid Driver's license
  • Weekends are required
  • Must have the ability to complete work independently and with a team.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively and in a timely manner.
  • The housekeeper must be able to maintain Misericordia’s environmental standards.
  • HSD/GED is not required.
