Payroll Manager

We are looking to hire one full-time Payroll Manager to work in our HR Department in Rogers Park.

The Payroll Manager is responsible for managing the payroll process, payroll changes (including processing wage garnishments), 401K reporting and adhering to payroll compliance requirements. This position is responsible for ensuring agency employees are paid accurately, on time and in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, in addition to adhering to Misericordia’s policies related to Paid Time Off and Relief Sick Leave pay. In addition to working with Department Heads and Teams to ensure compliance and facilitate/oversee ongoing education related to the FWW, scheduling and other company trends.


  • Full Time (40 hours) with ability to work flex hours upon request
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Business or equivalent years of related work experience
  • At least 3 years of payroll processing and administrative experience, CPA license and/or payroll certification preferred
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local payroll laws and compensation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and superior interpersonal abilities
  • Proven ability to work in a diverse workforce; Sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of clients and staff
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong word processing and record keeping skills and proficiency in computer productivity software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint), ADP Workforce Now Payroll/Time & Attendance and Recruitment (on-boarding) systems preferred.


Benefits Manager

We are looking to hire 1 full-time Benefits Manager to work on our campus in the Northside of Chicago.

This role is to manage all benefits functions for Misericordia Home employees in the following areas: medical, dental, vision, group life, life, AD&D, disability, other voluntary supplemental benefits and retirement savings plan. Maintain policies/procedures in accordance with state and federal requirements. In addition, provides statistical reports and analyzes of all employee benefits, making recommendations accordingly.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field required
  • SPHR, PHR preferred, but not required
  • CEBS certification preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of benefit administration experience.
  • Experience with a major payroll system (ADP Workforce Now).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office with proficiency in Excel
  • Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • High degree of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Presentation/Facilitation skills a must
  • Ability to multitask, interact with diverse personalities and problem solve


Seasonal Bakery Packaging

We are currently hiring for multiple seasonal openings in our Bakery Packaging department on our campus.

  • We are seeking to hire self-motivated and hardworking individuals to work for our packaging room, shipping department and office
  • Employment runs approximately from the beginning of November through Dec 23rd with all hiring and orientation taking place by October 29th.
  • This is a fast paced job with possible opportunities for long-term employment after the holiday season
  • Starting pay is $16.25/hour
  • GED/High school diploma is preferred but not required
  • Flex and weekend hours are required
  • All applicants must be vaccinated and will be asked to provide proof upon arrival for their interview.




We are hiring two full-time Chefs to work in our kitchen.


  • Must be able to work 9am-5pm and 2 weekends a month
  • Must have 5 years’ experience working as a Chef
  • Knowledge of equipment to be used in food service department
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to work alone and cooperatively with others
  • Must obtain sanitation license within 6 months of hire
  • High School diploma or GED



We have multiple full-time opening for a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) working on our campus with our wonderful residents.


  • QIDP must have a minimum of 1 year experience working with persons with developmental disabilities
  • Bachelor’s degree required– preferably in human services or another related field including but not limited to sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling or psychology
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as with a team and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • QIDPs oversee the needs of the resident's programs, goals and community outings amongst many other facets of daily life. QIDPs work closely with Supervisors, DSPs and Guardians to ensure quality care and programming for our residents.

  • Ability to manage time and resources while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work variety of shifts/hours and supervise as required
  • QIDP must have a valid driver's license and having your own vehicle is preferred.

Kitchen Aide

We are hiring 2 full-time kitchen aides to work in the new Hearts and Flour Bakery and Cafe down the street from our Rogers Park campus.

The kitchen aide’s core purpose is to clean all dishes and equipment pertaining to food service throughout the shift. Responsible for cleaning and keeping clean kitchen floors, cafeteria, dining room, and dishwashing area.


  • Knowledge of equipment to be used in food service department
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Able to work Weekends, Holidays and Morning/Early Afternoon Shifts
  • Previous experience working in a kitchen/restaurant environment, preferred
  • GED/HSD not required
  • Kitchen aide pay rate: $16.25/hr


Recreation Aide

We are looking to hire one full-time Recreation Aide to work in our Rosemary and Connelly homes. Flexibility in schedule to accommodate the needs of the unit and residents (Hours 12:30pm-8:30pm or 1pm-9pm).


  • Must be a DSP and have one year experience working with people with multiple disabilities.
  • Ability to work with a team and foster a positive environment.
  • Creative, enthusiastic and self-motivated- able to organize a variety of leisure based activities (example.. music, arts and crafts, interactive games)
  • Ability to plan, organize and implement both individualized and team activities
  • Complete paperwork in a timely manner
  • Ability to work & plan leisure activities for individuals with a variety of physical needs.
  • Strong leadership, team and organizational skills



  • Multiple full-time Housekeeper openings for the 7am-3 pm day shift.
  • Previous housekeeping experience required and availability to work weekends.
  • Housekeeper Pay Rate: 16.25 per hour (additional differential for working weekends) 



  • We have openings for LPN’s, RN’s and BSN’s on the day (7a-3p) evening (3p-11p) and overnight (11p-7a) shifts.
  • Our nurses assist with med pass, medical clinics, medical assessment/evaluation of residents and treatment as needed.
  • Nurses work as part of our incredible medical team to ensure the best medical care possible.
