It’s not often you see a bakery on wheels that delivers two things at once. But as it drives through the streets of Chicago, Misericordia’s Sweets on Wheels Bakery Truck can offer customers fresh bakery goods and beverages – and provide meaningful, paid employment to our residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Its menu includes freshly brewed coffee and a variety of other beverages and snacks, as well as cookies, sweet breads, scones, coffee cakes, cupcakes and muffins baked daily at Misericordia’s Heart & Flour Bakery. Our Irish Soda Bread and Lemon Bread are all-time customer favorites!
When you support our Sweets on Wheels, you help Misericordia offer our residents with the dignity of a productive job and paycheck in an environment that challenges them to live up to their full potential. As they work at the Hearts & Flour Bakery baking and packaging treats for the Sweets on Wheels Bakery Truck, Misericordia’s residents gain valuable work experience – all to make your visit to Sweets on Wheels one to always remember.
Do you have a special occasion coming up? The Misericordia Sweets on Wheels Bakery Truck can help! From private events like weddings, graduation parties, birthdays and anniversaries to school and corporate events, block parties and Farmers Markets, we have everything you need to make your event a success. Once you book Sweets on Wheels, the truck will arrive at a pre-arranged time either with pre-purchased goodies to pass out to your guests or with items from our menu to sell.
