The Artist in All showcases resident artists
The Artist in All, Empowerment Through Art Exhibition, organized by the Misericordia Sibling Association, features over 150 works of art created by more than 80 different artists with developmental disabilities who participate in Misericordia's art programs.
Art Therapy, Resource and Developmental Training programs provide therapeutic support services, recreation, art education and vocational opportunities. Children and adults of varying ages and abilities are empowered through making choices, initiating movements with color, exploring meaning through visual symbolism, feeling a sense of accomplishment after a job is completed, or experiencing the camaraderie and connectedness to others that is part of the group process.
Each program approached the art process with a different focus. Together these programs give residents a voice through visual expression and by sharing their achievements with family, friends and community. Click HERE for a FABULOUS video about this event and how it became so cool!!!
2012 Artist in All will be held at the Modern Wing of the Art Institute of Chicago on Wednesday, May 23 from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. Click here to register on line now.
